Pros:
Great Look, Room and Power. |
Cons:
Your dealer will have it more often than you. |
Review:
I bought a 2004 QX56 for my wife. Stop laughing and no she does not want
a divorce. The dealer in NJ is great. Not their problem this vehicle should
have never been released. I am going back for the fourth time for the brake
fix. There is no brake fix. Just look at the 05 and 06 service bulletins.
Same problems. By the way, there are 55 service bulletins for the 04 QX56.
When is the design folks at Nissan/Infinity on the QX56 getting sacked? The
mother of all lemons. Goshen should offer a buy back to anyone who has a bad
one. I am going to get legal counsel, and try this. 28K and the vehicle is
falling apart. |

Pros:
Looks, power, lots of gadgets.. |
Cons:
Gadgets do not always work, poor workmanship and parts quality, flaws in
the paint, body panel misalignment. |
Review:
The QX56 is the best looking full-size SUV on the market. The engine and
transmission are very good. It is too bad that poor quality components,
design flaws, and substandard workmanship have made owning the QX56 a
nightmare. The vehicle has been in the shop, on average, slightly more than
once a month. The brakes were repaired three times in less than 10,000 miles
including new rotors at 6,657. At 12,000 miles I am starting to have
problems again. The interior workmanship and parts quality is abysmal,
including rattles from the dash and various places in the cabin. Long term
reliability and durability are highly questionable. The design flaws in the
brakes have not yet been corrected. Rumor has it that a whole new front
brake design is in development but Nissan is not talking to its customers so
we cannot verify the rumor. My "Q" also has an assortment of intermittent
electrical gremlins including the driver's seat/steering wheel memory and
periodic problems with the cruise control. The dealer has been unable to
find a fix for either problem. The front suspension does not do a very good
job of keeping the front wheels planted on the road at certain speeds over
irregular surfaces. The steering feedback can be severe enough to take the
steering wheel out of your hand if you do not have a tight two-handed grip
and the front of the vehicle will shudder and slide toward the outside of a
turn, VERY exciting! I have researched trade-in value and I have lost almost
$20,000 in less than 8 months. As soon as I can afford it I will trade it in
on a non-Nissan product. |
