Review:
I bought my 2007 Infiniti G-35 Coupe, with nav system, rear active steer, 19 " wheels in March/April 2007. I now have 7,000 miles on it. The car is extremely fun to drive. You cannot be unhappy with this car. I tis fun, fun, fun, and more fun.

The tire wear seems to be normal. I have bBidgestone tires. I beleive the high wear complaints people have had are a result of driving habits. In addition, low profile tires are meant to wear out much faster. i fi get 16,000 miles out of my tires, I would be very happy. Also, I beleive that leaving the VDC ON, helps to weear down the tires. Leaving the VDC ON can make the car sluggish when moving from a dead stop. It makes the car grip the road with incredible force. I drive for the most part with the VDC OFF, except on rainy days or slippery roads. I have had no need to use the VDC often since the car adjusts itself pretty well on high speeds at tight turns.

Because my car has a rear-active steer, it handles excellently well, especially when going through tight turns at high speeds. Because of this rear active steer, the need for the VDC to be ON, appears meaningless. Keeping the VDC OFF saves my tire from excess wear. I think the traction control, VDC, and rear active steer on this car is an overkill in the vehicle's handling and stability charcterstics. You won't notice the effect of the rear active steer at slow speeds.

The brakes are no more Brembo brakes. However, they work well, and they seem to wear less quickly than the Brembo brakes.

The interior of the car meets all my needs. The leather quality of the seats are great. The pedals (brakes, accelerator, and clutch) have a tip-toe feel to it like a race car. The short shifter is marvelous. The seats hug you. The wheels are easy to clean. The sound of the exhaust is heavenly, especially when you drive in an underpass or enclosed area. it does intimidate other cars. The buttons in the car are easy to reach and adjust.

The car seems to perform excellently at high RPMs or high speeds in excess of 75 miles/hour. It seems to hate slow speeds and low RPMs. The steering wheel feels heavy at times, and the car can be very tedious to drive on a hot sunny day or when the air is not on. I typically drive most of the time with the air off. I guess the steering wheel is that way since it is speed sensitive. At high speeds, the car is stable while holding the steering wheel.

The car loves to REV. 4000 to 5000 RPM daily is routine. I have heard people complain about oil usage. Well, I change my oil every 3,000 miles. the manufacturer suggested 3,750 miles. The dealerships use synthetic blend of oil when the car was sold. I once used mineral oil (regular oil) and I found that the regular oil made my car very sluggish. So, I now use ful sythetic oil. I actually use Mobil 5w-30 Full Synthetic.

I found that using sythetic blend or mineral oil led to more than expected oil consumption as a result of evaporation form high temperatures. You can see black soot at the tip of the exhaust evidencing the evcaporation of the oil. Of course, during the break in period, oil consumption will naturally occur until the car settles. Oil consumption in this car is normal, except when it is excessive. So, .5 to 1 quart every 3,000 miles is not strange at all. I have the same effect with my other car. High performance engines typically use up oil.

The synthetic oil was an advantage in this car because it reduced the rate at which the oil was being used--this means synthetic oil evaporated less quickly than mineral oil under severe use and temperature. It made my early morning crank, more quiet, and it appeared to dissipate heat much faster. I always let my car warm up before driving. So, I am sold on Synthetic oil for the rest of my cars natural history with me.

Oil changes with Mobil 1 Sythetic run me about $50 an oil change. I also understand that the cost of repacing the 4 tires of this car will cost about $1,000+. However, since it is a rear wheel drive, I expect the rear tires to go bad before the front tires. So, i may be replacing just two tires at a time.

I am of the beleif that the this car (2003 - 2007 model year) will one day end up as a classic Japanese car. The G-37 S, while powerful, does nothave the same looks as this car.

The care is fun to drive. Buy this car if you want to be happy. I always find reasons to go out to drive. I haven't yet travelled with this car but I already have 7,000 miles on it, and I don't drive it everyday. I have had the car for about 4 months and you can form the mileage, how much I enjoy driving it when I do. The resale value is good as well.

You can also upgrade this car with an Injen Cold Air Intake, Bola Catback Exhaust, and either a supercharger or a turboe charger. Either way, you will be getting more than 390Hp from the engine. The car is truly a work of art.
