INFINITI Q45 TRANSMISSION SHIFTER LEVER DOES NOT COMING OUT OF PARK POSITION 

I cannot depress the button on the top of my shifter to move my 1992 Q45a from park to drive. I have the engine started with the brake pedal depressed. What can I do? Also, what is the shift release button beside the shifter?

The shifter release button is used in cases when you can not press the button on top of the shifter to move it. Press the shifter release button at the same time you move the shifter to release it from park. Now to resolve your problem, there are two common solution: first check if the stop light are coming on when you press the brake pedal, if the light does "not" come on you should replace the brake switch located next to the brake pedal. If the lights are coming on when the brake pedal is depress you may need to replace the shifter control module. This module is very hard and expensive to replace I recommend to having the dealer check that for you.
