Review:
The engine and drivetrain with the associated
power and performance gets 10/10. It is very good value for money as you
would have to pay a lot more for the equivalent horsepower and performance
in say BMW. The appearance is good but not as distinct and "sexy" as BMW -
the Japanese are good at emulating European styling and performance but some
of the finer points still elude them. When I initially bought the car, I
though that Infiniti had caught up and maybe overtaken BMW (I previously
owned 3 BMWs, 1 VW, 1 Toyota, 1 Nissan), but several issues changed my mind.
First, rattles and squeaks appeared that took several trips back to the
dealer to fix, which they eventually got right. Second, I started
experiencing discomfort with the seat - the seat controls are on the right
hand of the seat cushion (instead of next to the seat), it is rigid and hard
and presses into your leg. Any trip more than 30 minutes becomes a pain. I
guess it would be OK for some "Japanese-sized" drivers, but at 6'2", there
is no comfortable combination of seat/steering position for me. Why they
designed it like this is anyone's guess? The car manuals are in a bag that
is attached with Velcro in the boot - another oddity. The jack has "Nissan"
stamped on it, which probably reveals what the Infiniti really is. Overall a
good value, but I am currently very biased against it because of the seat
discomfort, and I am thinking to changing back to BMW or perhaps the Acura
TL.

Pros:
Power, handling, exterior design, standard features (heated leather seats, etc.)
|
|
Cons:
Very poorly fit interior. rattles and creaks for the past year I've owned the car.

Review:
I'm approaching my 1-yr mark and have somewhat
mixed feelings on the car. The thing that still kills it for me every day
are the incessant interior rattles and creaks coming from the door panels,
windows, dashboard, the aluminum console trim, etc, etc etc. I'll go in to
have them repaired, and either the mechanic doesn't hear anything when
driving or they fix the problems only to have the same issues spring up 3
months later. Looking back at it, if I had the extra cash I would have gone for a 330i,
but for the money its hard to beat the g35

Pros:
Acceleration, Handling, Comfort

Cons:
Brake Wear, Interior Rattles (Door and Trunk) Factory Tires, Manual shift mode (Automatic model) needs improvement, interior scratches easily.

Review:
Good car. Handles great, takes off and leaves people in the dust. Gets
good Highway MPG but will eat you alive at the pump in the city.
Manual shifting mode is temperamental when shifting into third. If you are
not careful, too many RPMS too fast when shifting into 3rd gear can cause a
thud sound. Keeping in mind that this is an automatic, if don't play pole
position with the manual shift mode, you can drive it and avoid this glitch
for the most part. Car was doing this at 800 miles.
Disappointments have been door and trunk rattles, some suspension noise just
recently, and manual shift mode (otherwise I would have gotten a manual
trans.)
Factory tires are terrible. My 2004 purchased two years ago has 17,500 miles
on it and I am shopping for new tires.

Pros:
Styling, acceleration, handling, steering, braking. So fun to drive, and great on the highway.
|
|
Cons:
When the engine warms up, it gets hot in heeere. The front panels heat up
and belch warm air at you from below. So when you roll down your windows on
a cool night, the driver doesn't get very cool. A/C is required unless the
outside temp is 65 or below.

Review:
This car is a great value. Few cars in this price range perform close to as well, and those that do look and feel a lot cheaper.
