Pros:
The 298 hp engine and 6-speed manual transmission are a great package,
styling is superb, excellent overall package |
Cons:
Wheels/tires -> see above
BLOSE 6-disc CD stereo is a rip-off (not only would a single disc be
perfectly acceptable, but it would be less prone to breaking). What you will
likely get with this $1000 "upgrade" is a 6-disc CD player that breaks in
5-years, when a single disc CD player would have lasted the LIFE OF THE
VEHICLE. Blose sells you a bunch of overpriced junk (except for their
home-audio bookshelf and tower speakers). |
Review:
My perspective for this review: no car is worth buying unless it is fun
to drive and it must have a sole and become part of you.
The vehicles I own:
1) 2-owner 1988 Mercedes 560SEL flagship with 212,000 miles. It is the
last of the old/classic look Benzs. Looks like new after 18 years. Built
before Lexus and Infinit cam on the seen in the US. Extremely well built car
and I will put it on collector car insurance when it reaches 25 years old.
New engine or rebuild after that.
2) single-owner 1996 Chevy Blazer 2-door, 2WD, 5-speed manual gutted
interior, loud as hell, a blast to drive. 151,000 miles. Engine is dead - it
needs a rebuild. Was turning 15.4 @89 MPH in 1/4 mile with 3.73 gears, home
made intake, facory manifolds, and custom y-pipe with no cats.
3) 2-owner 2005 G35 coupe 6MT premium package, Black on Black, bought
used with 6400 miles. What can I say other than that this car is amazing.
The car drives great, accelerates quickly, handles very well, and looks
stunning - ESPECIALLY IN BLACK ON BLACK. This is the best current production
2+2 driver's car for the money period. A BMW 330Ci will cost you thousands
more and it has way less power. A Lexus IS350 has slightly more power from
its V6, but it is not available with either a manual transmission, or in
coupe form. If you want a better naturally aspirated V6/manual transmission
combination in a 2+2 coupe body, you will have to "upgrade" to the $50,000+
BMW M3 or $70,000+ Porsche 911. In comparison, the G35 coupe 6MT comes in at
a base of $33,000. They have definately hit the nail on the head with this
one.
My only real complaint is the wheel and tire package. I don't understand
why Infinit has to go with 19 inch wheels. Other than their gorgeous looks
(best looking factory wheels this side of a Ferrari) they accomplish
nothing. 19 inch wheels are heavier than 18 inchers. 19 inch wheels require
summer tires (Toyo currently makes the all season Proxes-4 for 19 inch
wheels in the 225 and 245 widths that we need, BUT THEY ARE 35 ASPECT RATIO
TIRES, not the 40 aspect ratio that these wheels need.) I have e-mailed them
and requested 40 series tires. Others should do the same.
What Infiniti should have done was put 245 fronts and 275 rears on 18
inch wheels on this car. |

Bought this car a couple of days ago, and I can't believe that people
have the nerve to bash this car. This is the most incredible car I have ever
driven HANDS DOWN. Everything comes to together on this car. Looks,
performance, handling and price. My suggestion if u have the money get ONE
you won't regret it. |

Pros:
A 90% over all balanced car |
Cons:
Lack in torque! Their are 4 cylinder that cost less that have 300hp to
the wheels. |
Review:
Excellent vehicle, why is Infiniti behind times on horse power? Infiniti
if you build a Excellent car why don't you back it better then 1 year bumper
to bumper. I have a Lincoln LS that Lincoln backed free bumper to bumper for
over 3 years. Did I buy down when I bought my 2005 G 35 Coupe? |

Pros:
Awesome engine capabilities, snazzy looking tyres, really fast, great
surround sound features and good tech. packages |
Cons:
Feels slightly heavy, Engine should have around 340 hpower for this car.
Tires should be somewhere in the 20inch range. Should include about 10
speakers to allow EVERYONE 2 enjoy the pleasures of the car |
Review:
This car has awesome handling. I have been surrounded by really fast
cars my entire life and now having my own has been really exciting. I chose
the G35MT coupe as it looked snazzy and was way cheaper than getting a
Jaguar XKR which was my first priority. It has an awesome engine and pickup.
It looks as attractive as the Jag and it handles better since it has better
long base wheels. Plus, they offer chrome which Jag does not. |

Review:
First off, I loved the car and spent 6 months dreaming about my
purchase. However, since I have now had the vehicle only 6 months I have had
to deal with problems which I believe to be warranty issues however, they
are not being covered. Albeit Infiniti has a great warranty, heaven forbid
you ever have a problem for something other than noted in their Technical
Service Bulletins. I had severe wear problems to my front right tire which
the dealership claimed was caused by potholes or road conditions. This is
completely false because the camber problem to the front right can not be
affected by road conditions! The paint on these vehicles is brutal, in fact
I have rust appearing after a stone has chipped the paint. I am now left
with a vehicle I would love to shove up someone's rear! |
